Saturdays, 1:30–3:30 pm

Trace the evolution of American painting from colonial portraiture to contemporary icons. See works in our refreshed American Art galleries and explore the stories told by Black and Indigenous artists about cultural identity. Each week offers an opportunity to try out a new technique or material, discuss an artwork with your peers, and develop your own creative expression. The class will culminate in a final project: your reflection on identity, belonging, or other ideas inspired by the Museum’s collection.
